So a disease hits Europe in 1347 and spreads like wild fire through cities, towns and country sides. It kills 1/3 or close to 25 million people. There is no cure, no vaccinations, and the people do not know that most of what they are doing to get rid of the disease is actually making it worse by spreading it.
Imagine if we were to have a similar experience today in America. How would it be different? How would we react as a nation? What tools do we have today to combat such an outbreak that were not available in 14th Century Europe?
Sometimes I wish I could travel back in time and tell everyone about the Black Death before it happens and tell them what they could do to stop the spread of the disease. Imagine how many lives could be saved and how different the coninent would be today.
Please respond with comments and suggestion about what you would do if you could travel back in time to help save lives in 14th Century Europe.
